Are you looking for an alphabet activity book your children will love to create? Try this FREE Chicka Chicka Boom Boom printable alphabet book!
The best part is you can create this alphabet book in Spanish, English, or make a bilingual ABC book! You can put them in a 3 ring binder, use our favorite binding machine, or just staple the pages together to easily make these into a book. Covers are included in both languages at the front of each packet.
This is how we are using the book.
Step 1 – Demonstrate how to write the letter, then have children trace the letters in the coconut. For extra practice, they can rainbow write the letters (First trace it in red, then orange, then yellow, etc.)
Step 2 – Color the tree. You can always switch it up by using different mediums like markers, paint, colored pencils, etc. We got a little eccentric here, and used things like “green and gold glitter” for the English G page.
Step 3 – “What do you see under the coconut tree?” Have children add an object that starts with the letter. They can draw it, use stamps, stickers, sticky foam shapes. Keep it simple, or get creative here! If you are using the version with words, you want to have the children write the name of the object on the line. “I see an apple.” or “Yo veo la araña.”
Step 4 – Add the letters. We used alphabet stamps to stamp the letters falling out of the coconut tree. You could also have children cut them from old magazines, practice writing them some more, or leave this step out.
There are four different versions of the book included in the download:
- English Alphabet – without words
- English Alphabet – with prompt “I see _____.”
- Spanish Alphabet – without words
- Spanish Alphabet – with prompt “Yo veo _____.”
