Color words are among the first words children learn in any language. If you have a toddler just learning to recognize colors, a preschooler just learning to write color words, or any child practicing their colors in a second language…this project is for you! What a better way to learn than with the popular children’s book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?. Each page of the book uses a different medium, so the end result will be a homemade Brown Bear book full of art experiences!
I first created this Brown Bear Texture Book as part of a color theme when teaching Kindergarten.
(I wanted a version that included all the colors. So, I took the liberty of adding a pink pig and gray mouse page.)
The text follows a predictable pattern, so every child will feel immediately successful reading it. Don’t believe me? Check out my three-year-olds reading the Spanish version. They fell in love with their book and read it daily!
